LAKE KEEPIT
This man-made lake,
formed by Keepit Dam, is a popular fishing and water sports facility
between Tamworth and Gunnedah. It is also the home of a well-known
soaring club. Activities include sailing, power boating, wind
surfing, water skiing, canoeing, swimming, bush walking, fishing and
bird watching (149 varieties). There are extensive picnic facilities,
horse trails, a BMX track, three half tennis courts, a swimming
pontoon with a slide, and a five-hole golf course. There is a wide
range of accommodation, and camping facilities.
